About

Here you can read more about me and my company.

My big passions: audio and games

I love video games and audio, so I decided to combine these two interests and passions into a career.

What I do as a Game Sound Designer:

My rolse as a sound designer is to make sure the game sounds as good as it can by desinging and implementing audio. I can work independently or integrated in the team, where I either handle all the audio responsibilities on my own or help out as a consultant.

Together with programmers I can design complex systems and implement them. I’m not a programmer by any means, but I know my way around audio systems. I’ve worked with the game engines Unity and Unreal while using either FMOD or Wwise. As well as native audio solutions like MetaSounds for example.

How I work as a Game Sound Designer:

I usually start my projects with mapping out what the projects needs and what we as a team want to achieve. From there I start gathering source material, either by going out and recording new sounds (see picture on the left, me recording sheep in the French Alps) or start sketching with the source I already have from many years of recording.

Then I start designing and implementing, I usually try to get things as quickly as possible into the game so I can start re-iterating and experimenting with ideas in game. Also getting feedback from you is important, to see what fits and what does not. Additionally I start creating systems and designs that help us work more efficiently, either with the help of middleware or other solutions.

From here on it is mostly just rinse and repeat until the project is finished. At later stages focusing more on the bigger picture of course, like mixing and optimizing.
